Tales of the fair fields of Alia
Brought her to search in the wild
As she walked too far in the evening
In the woods she was lost like a child
As she walked too far in the evening
In the woods she was lost like a child

Veil of the haze hiding Alia
Led the girl by her hand
So the fields came alive in the evening
She was charmed by the voices that sang
So the fields came alive in the evening
She was charmed by the voices that sang

Follow me
Come to me
We can love
Broken heart

Ghosts on the fields of Alia
Smiled with their eyes of fairy blue
Entwined her in their long hair with tender
Singing, “all of your heartache is through”
Entwined her in their long hair with tender
Singing, “all of your heartache is through”

Follow me
Come to me
We can love
Broken heart

Safe with her saviour in the morning
Loving words mend her scars
He said, “Never return to Alia
To the fields of broken hearts
Never return to Alia
To the fields of broken hearts”

Player's comments: This Estonian group may seem unknown to most people, but maybe the song "Diamond of night" rings a bell. It was the Estonian entry in the 1999 Eurovision song contest.Even the title track appeared in the Estonian contest in 2000, but came in 2nd. The singers name is Evelyn Samuel, but she's marketed under the name "Alternature" now. The titel track has even been remix for international use and the song "Let me stay" has become "Northern gold".Not an improvement, but these songs are so strong, that they survive. The genre can be called a cross between Enya and One More Time. The melodies are certainly not without celtic influences,as the songs "For I belong to you" and "Jesters silver coin" reakes of Irish folkmusic.
It's hard to tell that Alternature is from Estonia, as they have made a truly international and very beautiful record.
