A group biography
only makes sense after the definitive ending of its
activities, and never in the beginning phase of a process. So, what
follows are some general reflections about what SQUEEZE.THEEZE.PLEEZE
have been making since the beginning until the actuality.
Each one of them "was born" from former and different musical
experiences, that by different ways just stayed in the local circuits.
There was absolutely necessary not to let the original fire extinguish
itself. Maybe the unknown wanted them to meet one day, in a land where
there are't many people feeling free to let down some things, said as
socially important, "just" for the Rock. The absence of the
needed money
for the acquisition of new equipments was never an obstacle for their
will to play. This explains the will Farinha played his old Ibanez like
it was the best in the world. Anyway, they never wanted to affirmate
themselves by their instrumental techniques.
It's music that matters, and it will continue to be this way.
The concerts normally have strong support. The most known until now,
but
not necessarily the best, took place in the Latada'98 (University
week-party in October, dedicated to the reception of the freshpersons)
in Coimbra, when they stepped on the same stage as Morphine. However,
what has most motivated them are the awrm receptions from people that
never heard them before, what can only be good.
The actual band formation has four years. The adaptation period was very
quick. They put our sound better and concluded that it was the time for
releasing their first CD, with or without a contract with a label. The
recording was ready on the beginning of 2001 and they prepare know their
mise-en-scène.
The rest is adventure.
This theme "Ode to a Child" is commonly on Portuguese pop-rock
radio
stations.
