Friderika Bayer was born in Budapest at the 4th of October, 1971.
Friderika is known for being the first Hungarian to appear on the Eurovision Song Contest stage, at 1994, With her song “Kinek mondjam el vétkeimet?” (“Whom can I tell my sins?”). she finished in the respectable 4th place, with 122 points.
On the 30th of April, 1994, she released her debut album “Friderika”, which have reached “Golden-album” level within 2 months.
Following her Eurovision appearance, A sequence of prizes started to flow in: for the fourth place at the Eurovision, she received the “Emerton” prize of the Hungarian radio. and also in 1994, she won the “Golden Deer” - a prize created by Axel Springer Publisher.
On the 25th of January, 1995 she won the “Emerton” prize for the second time, that goes to the young star of the year (this was broadcast by both radio and television). Then came the Golden Giraffe award created by “Mahasz”, the Hungarian shipping office - for the same title.
In August of 1995, Friderika won the second place at the 32nd annual festival of Sopot, Poland.
On the gala, she appeared on the same stage together with Annie Lennox and Chuck Berry.
In 1996, Friderika released her second album, titled “Friderika II”.
Third album, titled “Boldog vagyok” (“I am happy”), was released in 1998, and its opening track, “Feltárcsáztad a szívem” (“You called up my heart”), was the most played track at the Hungarian radio stations, and became her biggest hit so far.
Success continued at 1999, with her fourth album, “Kincs, ami van” (“Treasure , that is”), with the theme song of that album, was played again and again in the Hungarian radio.
Her fifth album, “Hazatalálsz" ("You'll Find the Way Home"), was released in 2001, and was composed by József Borbély, Róbert kassai and Szabolcs Varga.
In 2003, Friderika changed musical styles to Gospel, and not a surprise, that her sixth album was titled “Gospel”.
Her latest release to date was in 2006, with an album titled “Sáron rózsája” (Rose of Sharon).
